Abstract:

The Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Team at Intuitive Surgical is seeking a highly motivated, professional data analyst to support the HEOR related scientific publications.

The contractor will provide analytical and consultative support to HEOR and participate in scientific evidence creation activities. Specifically, the contractor will analyze large healthcare databases and present the findings through congress abstracts and/or manuscripts. The contractor will also be responsible for presenting and interpreting the results/findings to internal corporate colleagues in cross functional teams. He/she will provide analytical and consultative support to the other members of the team and colleagues from other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • – Participate in the development of HEOR-related research projects that support the value proposition for products in key clinical areas. Projects include large scale epidemiological studies, patient reported outcomes, health economics modeling & systematical literature searches.
  • – Implement health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) studies from inception to completion, including preparing study protocols, statistical analysis plan (SAP), study reports, abstracts and manuscripts.
  • – Perform statistical analysis using large healthcare databases (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records) products in key clinical areas. Projects include large scale epidemiological studies, patient reported outcomes, health economics modeling & systematical literature searches.
  • – Implement health economic and outcomes studies from inception to completion, including preparing study protocols, statistical analysis plan (SAP), study reports, abstracts and manuscripts.
  • – Perform statistical analysis using large healthcare databases (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records).
  • – Deliver and present the results/findings through congress abstracts and/or manuscripts where possible.
  • – Present and interpret findings to across functional teams.

Skills / Education Requirements:

  • – Bachelor or master’s degree in health economics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, public health, or related field.
  • – Experience in HEOR related observational study design, implementation, analysis and publication.
  • – Strong statistical programming skills using SAS, R and/or STATA.
  • – Experience working in a collaborative project team/environment.
  • – Prefer candidate with experience in analyzing large, real world healthcare databases (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records, patient discharge data).
