Abstract:

The San Francisco Coordinating Center (SFCC) is hiring a statistician/data manager. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for statistical analyses and data management for observational studies and clinical trials led by investigators at the SFCC. Studies at the SFCC focus on various conditions in older adults including sleep, muscle loss, osteoporosis, and dementia. The incumbent will complete standard analyses using common software packages.

There will be opportunities for further development of statistical expertise including training in graphical display of information and machine learning techniques. The incumbent will provide data tables and figures for manuscripts and may contribute to writing of these papers. Data management tasks include variable creation, documentation, and interfacing with RedCAP, electronic medical records, and other data management systems.

The incumbent will have knowledge of common statistical methods and experience applying several of these methods in real-world environments. With input from supervisor and investigators, the incumbent will translate research questions into testable statistical hypotheses. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in SAS. Experience in R and/or Stata is a plus. Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, or a similar field is required.
